Dr. Chares ('Chuck') Skiba, originally from northeast Michigan, relocated from Chicago, Illinois to join Pacific Oaks Medical Group in 2006. Dr. Skiba received his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology with high honors from Michigan State University. After graduation, he worked for two years in the Department of Cardiology at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Skiba then returned to Michigan and earned his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Skiba began his Osteopathic Residency program in Family Medicine at Mt. Clemens General Hospital in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. From Mt. Clemens Dr. Skiba then continued his specialty training in Allopathic Family Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. These two residency programs have given Dr. Skiba the unique ability to become a Board Certified Diplomate of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice. In addition to being dually Board Certified Dr. Skiba is also a member of the American Association of HIV Medicine, the Gay & Lesbian Medical Association, and numerous other professional and political medical associations as well as being a licensed physician in California, Michigan, and Illinois.
Dr. Skiba has special interests and experience in many areas of Family Medicine, including: Sports Medicine, HIV Medicine, Osteopathic Manipulation, and is skilled in various office procedures from joint injections to minor office surgery. Current patients of Dr. Skiba find his unique and humorous delivery of care both comforting and calming. Numerous patients have expressed their gratitude to Dr. Skiba and his staff on how individualized and thorough their care is and what passion he shows for their total health.
Outside medicine, Dr. Skiba has a vast interest in sporting activities. A few of these include routine exercise, golf, tennis, biking, boating, and beach volleyball. In the remainder of his leisure time, he enjoys the performing arts.
Dr. Skiba always welcomes new patients into his practice. Word of mouth and existing patient referrals have been successful in keeping Dr. Skiba's successful practice growing.
