Dr. Hieu Hoang graduated from the University of California, Irvine in 1999 where he earned his bachelor's degree in Biology and two minors in Spanish language and Women's Studies. He then attended Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, for his Osteopathic Medicine (D.O. degree) education. Dr. Hoang completed his Public Health Residency in 2006 at Madigan Army Medical Center, Fort Lewis, WA and concurrently earned his Master's of Public Health degree (M.P.H.) from the University of Washington in Seattle with an emphasis in Occupational Medicine. In 2007, Dr. Hoang joined US HealthWorks Medical Group and was quickly promoted to be one of the first Managing Physicians.
From 2003-2007, Dr. Hoang was an active duty officer for the US Army Medical Corps. His last assignment was at Fort Drum, NY where he acted as the Chief of Preventive Medicine and Medical Director of the Soldier Readiness Center for deploying Soldiers. His honorable service was decorated by two awards, The Army Achievement Medal Award and the North Atlantic Regional Medical Command General's Coin.
Dr. Hoang strongly believes in health promotion and disease prevention by empowering his patients with the knowledge to help them optimize their health. His other interests include Tropical Medicine and joining humantarian organizations devoted to providing basic health care to other parts of the world, such as Project Vietnam. In his spare time, Dr. Hoang enjoys surfing, playing volleyball, and spending quality time with family and friends.
