UPCOMING TRIALS
Gout and Cardiovascular Disease. Does this describe you?
Pacific Oaks is now seeking participants for an ongoing clinical trial evaluating individuals with a known history of Gout and Cardiovascular disease. If this sounds like you, please contact our office.
Participants must be:
- Men 50 years of age or older
- Women 55 years of age or older
- Diagnosed with Gout
- Have history of major cardiovascular disease (includes stroke, blocked arteries, diabetes)

Eligible participants will receive study medication and be compensated for time and travel.
Do you have HIV and have not taken any HIV medications for treatment?
We are seeking volunteers to participate in a Clinical Research Study for those with newly diagnosed HIV disease to test an investigational medication for the treatment of HIV. The duration of the trial is one year
Study Volunteers must:
- Be age 18 or greater
- Have HIV-1
- Have a viral load of 1.000 copies/mL or higher
- Have a CD4 count of 250 cells/mm3 or higher
- Be willing to spend one day (12 hours) at the clinic for specific lab testing
- Women of childbearing age potential on an acceptable form of birth control
Study Volunteers Must Not:
- Have taken ANY types of HIV medications
- Have a diagnosis or tuberculosis, hepatitis B or C, or cirrhosis of the liver
Study participants will receive study related exams, lab tests, and investigational study medication at no charge.

HIV and High Cholesterol
Are you being treated for HIV and have high cholesterol?
If so, please contact Matthew Long about our research study for adults age 18-70.
Qualified participants must:
- Be on stable HIV medications for 6 months
- Have high cholesterol (with or without treatment)
- Agree to follow a fat and cholesterol restrictive diet
Qualified participants receive:
- Compensation for time and travel
- All study related evaluations and investigational medication at no cost
