Dr. Anthony J. Scarsella, M.D.

Dr. Anthony Scarsella has been both the President and Medical Director of Pacific Oaks Medical Group for over 15 years. He is a Primary Care giver who has also cared for people with HIV, Hepatitis and other infectious diseases since 1984. Dr. Scarsella joined the practice in 1986 to care for his friends, spouses and all of their friends. Dr. Scarsella received his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. He received his Masters degree in Molecular Biology at UC Berkeley and his medical degree from UC San Francisco. He completed his internship and residency at the Kaiser Foundation Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Scarsella is certified with the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Academy of HIV Medicine.
Dr. Scarsella is also the Principal Investigator with Pacific Oaks Research, the clinical research arm affiliated with Pacific Oaks Medical Group. He has directed many different clinical trials in various areas such as infectious and male related diseases, hyperlipidemia, and aging. Dr. Scarsella is the Study Director for Consolidated Laboratory Services, overseeing the laboratory components of numerous ongoing clinical trials and guiding development of advanced laboratory techniques.
Dr. Scarsella has been honored by the Pacific AIDS Education and Training Center for his HIV teaching. He is affiliated with Cedars Sinai Medical Center and Olympia Medical Center, as well as being active in numerous local societies and organizations.
In his private life, Dr. Scarsella is married to his partner of 31 years. He enjoys comedy performances, classical music, gardening, new restaurants, Starbucks, and regular exercise. If questioned, he also admits to nerdiness and liking Sci-Fi.
